Books Without Borders

Physicians in Iraq and Afghanistan are working hard to restore their medical education system. The UC San Diego School of Medicine Alumni Association, with logistical assistance from engineering alumnus Bill Proffer ’76, M.S. ’78, and Khaled Hosseini SOM ’93, are lending a helping hand. The Medical Alumni Association at UCSD has partnered with the UCLA Medical Alumni Association’s Books Without Borders project to donate medical textbooks to nurses, laboratory technicians and EMTs at medical schools and military hospitals in need.

Donations may be dropped off at the UCSD Bookstore at the Medical Counter located on the first floor, until June 31, or mailed directly to:
