Practicing Environmentalism
Environmental Systems majors are put to work before they graduate—and some even get paid for it.

Through Cyberspace
Once a week, students from disciplines as diverse as engineering, art, economics, biotechnology and computer science meet in one of the newest buildings on campus and speak to their instructor in Mumbai, India.

Nationally Ranked: First baseman Jenni Habib, Marshall '10, pictured above, led the women’s softball team with a .379 hitting average. Along with pitcher Melissa Ward, Marshall ’08, a steady southpaw with a record of 27 wins in the last season, the team is ranked eighth in the nation and is 21-9 after knocking off a pair of ranked teams.

Tournament Tritons: Guard Kelvin Kim, Warren ’09, pictured left, is a member of the UC San Diego men’s basketball team, which took its first California Collegiate Athletic Association basketball championship title in March. It was the best season in the team’s history and it was the first time that both the men’s and women’s teams reached the NCAA’s Division II tournaments.

Guarding their Gold: Thrower Jillian Sola, Warren ’08, pictured above, is a member of the UC San Diego women’s track and field team, the defending CCAA champions. They grabbed their first-ever All-Cal Championship crown defeating four Division I sister schools—UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
