Cooking While You Surf
When you own over 100 cookbooks, it is time to stop buying, and start cooking. That’s what Heidi Swanson, Muir ’95, realized when she launched 101cookbooks.com, a website that chronicles her cookbook collection, one recipe at a time.

Bottleshock at the Reunion
Miss out on the fall Homecoming event? If so, the Young Alumni Reunion offers another chance at Triton camaraderie. And one of the highlights of the weekend will be the screening of the popular independent film Bottle Shock, starring Alan Rickman and Bill Pullman, on Saturday, February 21. The film’s producers, UC San Diego alumni Robert Baizer, ’86, and Diane Diane Jacobs, ’86, who are Chancellor’s Associates members, will serve as guest speakers.

Jessica Pearson, ERC ’01, confronts the practical problems of climate change every day. As a policy advisor to the director of the California ­Department of Water Resources, she focuses on the impact of climate change on the state’s water. Currently, she is examining possible solutions for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, the hub of California’s water system, which has been hit hard by the drought....

Move over IQ, it’s the era of EQ. And Talent­Smart, a company co-founded by Travis Bradberry, Revelle ’98, is one of the leading providers of Emotional Intelligence tools and training programs. The company, dedicated to the study of company performance and individual excellence, has a list of clients that includes Coca-Cola, NASA, Microsoft, eBay, Wells Fargo and Nestle among many others.

The workpalce just got healthier thanks to Bryan Van Noy, ERC' 94, and his wife Danna Korn. Last January, the couple cmobined $75,000 of their savings to create sonicboomwellness.com, aimed at promoting healtheir, happier lifestyles-even on the job. MORE
