Jan Tuttleman, M.B.A. 06

Distinguished Leadership. “Set your sights high and reach for your dreams. Be passionate, courageous and adventuresome.” Jan Tuttleman’s philosophy on life is simple but potent, and she has realized it in all aspects of her leadership endeavors—from community service projects to professional organization work to everything else in between.

During her time at UC San Diego, Tuttleman, studied at the Rady School of Management. She has consequently contributed much of her time and resources to the school, both by leading Rady’s 2006 Class Campaign effort in raising $250,000 and currently serving on its Dean’s Advisory Council.

Tuttleman formerly served as the vice president of marketing for Huya Bioscience International. For the past 14 years, she has been an angel investor for a number of early-stage life-science companies in San Diego. She has also helped new alumni ventures thrive with her intellectual and financial investments.

While Tuttleman has an affinity to the Rady School, her underlying passion lies in local community service projects, particularly those that involve empowering women. She is currently the president of Women Give San Diego, founded in 2009. Through grant writing and networking, Tuttleman has improved the lives of many women and girls in San Diego, by giving them the ability to help their families and succeed on their own. She is also actively involved in other philanthropic groups, and in all of these, is an inspiration to those around her.
